A great comedy is very, very hard to find. There was a time when comedies came easily to British cinema; Ealing being a prime example of how to do comedy perfectly. So, with that in mind we thought why not celebrate British comedies of the past during the festival. We’ve chosen three films, all of which have been lovingly restored and are certain to make you laugh and remember just how funny people like Terry-Thomas, Joyce Grenfell, Alistair Sim and Peter Sellers really were.
